Malibu Town Residence
Overview
Handling a 10,500-square-foot footprint inside Gurgaon's Malibu Town requires a rare willingness to let a space breathe. Completed over an intensive eight-month timeline, this residence skips standard luxury tropes in favor of an architectural, avant-garde narrative. Interia approached the sprawling estate by treating walls as canvases and furniture as standalone structures. Instead of relying on gilded clutter to communicate luxury, the design focuses on monumental scale, sharp geometry, and a heavily layered mix of raw, high-contrast textures that instantly command attention while remaining intensely practical for everyday life.

Palatial Proportion and Form
Managing an area of this size means balancing massive volume with structural grounding. The floor plan relies on custom, architectural zoning rather than hard partitions to keep the sightlines open across the entire level. We established a sophisticated color story using dark charcoal paneling, contrasting ivory stones, and warm oak details. This layout strategy links the grand entertainment lounges with the private family wing, ensuring the property feels continuously connected without ever feeling cavernous.

The primary living lounge shifts into a deeper, moodier rhythm. A sprawling charcoal sectional sofa anchors the room, framed by a striking black marble accent wall and an architectural floor lamp that washes the seating area in warm light. Plush accent rugs underfoot soften the heavy stone flooring, pulling together a low-slung, highly tailored setting meant to slow down conversations long into the evening.

Where Avant-Garde Architecture Replaces Traditional Luxury In Malibu Town

Design Philosophy
The technical framework for this Malibu Town residence centers entirely on "Textural Avant-Garde Minimalism." We purposely focused on high-contrast materiality to define each zone, contrasting deep matte charcoals against reflective stone surfaces. The philosophy bypasses superficial decoration to highlight the honesty of the materials themselves—using custom ribbed wall details, metal track lighting installations, and heavy, tailored upholstery silhouettes. By balancing sharp linear geometry with rich, tactile surfaces, we ensured the sprawling footprint feels deeply grounded, functional, and structurally integrated.
